Cardies, a beloved South African heritage brand, has been the go-to destination for greeting cards and gifts since 1977. With an established network of 37 charming brick-and-mortar stores across the country, Cardies was seeking to grow, not just their online presence, but also the revenue contribution for their e-commerce store as well.

Cardies faced a challenge in wanting to grow their online sales, basket value and number of transactions without necessarily increasing their media budgets. Despite their efforts, they were unable to make progress and needed a fresh approach to break free from stagnation and reignite growth in their e-commerce site.

Solution

We began with a deep dive into their data, meticulously segmenting users across various transaction values to identify the most profitable audience profiles. This analysis allowed us to gain valuable insights into customer behaviours and preferences. We then imported custom audiences from Google Analytics into Google Ads, building high value audience groups.

Results

The success of our efforts is evident in the impressive outcomes achieved. This includes a 17% increase in transactions, a 39% increase in basket value and an impressive 63% increase in website revenue. These results highlight the effectiveness of our strategy and showcases the potential for growth in a competitive market.
